About Us

We asked ourselves a simple question:

"Why can't we book and buy local services online, just like we order and buy products online?"
We knew that if we could find a way, we could fundamentally change the way the world buys local services forever.
Today, we buy local services (think: plumbing, air conditioning, handyman, carpet cleaning, appliance repair) pretty much the same way our grandparents did, using a directory. It is true there are search engines and review sites, but even after spending hours scanning results and reading reviews, we still have to check references, call around to compare prices and to schedule a time for an appointment, and then give up half a day waiting for the technician to arrive. When the technician finally shows up to do the work, we are presented with a bill that is usually a complete surprise, and trying to get someone to come back to fix something requires even more work (assuming they return our calls at all). Needless to say, the current process is broken.

We started the company in 2012 and originally called it ClubLocal. Over the past three years, our network of Pros has performed more than 40,000 handyman, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, appliance repair, carpet cleaning, house cleaning, and even mobile auto detailing jobs - to thousands of satisfied customers.
Originally started and incubated within a public company (ReachLocal, NASDAQ: RLOC), the company spun itself out of ReachLocal and received $7.5M in funding in an investment led by Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN) in February 2014. In December 2014, the company raised an additional $12.5M in funding as part of our ongoing to disrupt the existing $400 billion home services industry across the United States. The company is headquartered in Sherman Oaks, California and is led by a management team that has successfully started, grown, and taken public other innovative companies they started previously.
We are currently referring Pros to customers in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Phoenix areas and look to expand into other markets in the near future. While we are focused on the home service vertical today, we think that all local services should be transacted this way – from auto repair to medical & dental care to professional services.
