How do I know my sewer line needs to be replaced? This is one of the most common questions we hear at SERVIZ. Although we rely on our plumbing system to work every single day, it’s not something we think about. Until, unfortunately, we have to. Here are some signs your sewer line may need to be replaced.
If you need Sewer Line Replacement or Repair, call SERVIZ at (844) 473-7849.
Gurgling noises. If you flush the toilet or drain the sink and hear gurgling noises, you may have a blocked or damaged sewer line. Another sign you may have a damaged sewer line is the water in your toilet not filling back to the proper level after flushing.
Sewage smells. Bad smells are a tell-tale sign that your sewer line may need replacement.
Slow draining water. Water that drains slowly in your sink, shower or toilet indicates a sewer line in need of repair. Water pooling around your basement drain is also a reliable sign of damage.
Standing water. If you see puddles of standing water on your lawn, then book a SERVIZ Plumber immediately. Smelly sinkholes are another sign that your sewer line needs replacing.
Rodents and insects. Broken sewer lines attract rats, insects, and other vermin. If you notice an increase in pests like these, don’t just call a pest control specialist - book a SERVIZ Plumber to diagnose your sewer line.
Older homes are susceptible to sewer line damage, especially homes built in the 1970s or before, when pipes were made out of clay tiles. Homes with a lot of trees are also prone to sewer line damage - tree roots are a main cause of sewer line replacement.
