Stains make an otherwise vibrant room look dingy and old. But, with trained, expert rug cleaners, your living room can look fresh and inviting again. Book a SERVIZ Carpet Cleaner if your rug or carpet has any of the following.
Coffee Stains. Morning java is indispensable, but if it spills on the rug, it can be a headache to remove. Coffee stains are particularly difficult to remove because they contain tannins. A tannin is an organic vegetable dye found in many plants. Tannins give coffee its bitter taste, while also adding complexity. However, it can be a very difficult to remove, especially if the coffee was hot when it spilled. Heat can cause the fibers in a rug or carpet to expand, essentially allowing the stain to become more deeply ingrained.
Wine Stains. Like coffee, wine contains a lot of tannins, naturally occurring polyphenols in the skin of grapes, bark, tea leaves, etc. If you spill red wine on the rug, don’t panic. Daub the spot with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution and book a SERVIZ Carpet Cleaner to remove it completely. Do NOT rub the stain to remove it, however. This will only make it set in more.
Pet stains. We love our pets, but they can be tough on rugs and carpets. Especially puppies or kittens that are not yet housebroken. But, don’t let your pets diminish your room’s decor. Pet stains can be removed by trained carpet cleaners, using the latest techniques. It’s especially important to have pet stains removed by professionals. If the stains are not removed completely, animals will often return to the site of the accident if they can smell their personal scent.
Did You Know….
Although the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a difference between spots and stains. Spots are fresh and can be removed relatively easily with the right technique. A stain is a spot that has set in over time, becoming ingrained in the rug or carpet fibers. They can be much more difficult to remove, so for best results, always clean a “spot” before it becomes a “stain.”
